The Stop DWI, Inc. Advocacy to reduce intoxicated driving and underage consumption of alcohol began in the
Permian Basin in August of 1984, following the tragic death of Joseph Higgins, son the late John Higgins and
Faye Higgins. Faye was soon to be president of Mothers Against Drunk Driving in Midland, Texas and served in
that capacity until 1995 when the Midland Chapter left the M.A.D.D. Organization to become what it is today.

Saving lives is our top concern. Therefore, Stop DWI, Inc. Provides educational and hands-on challenging
program activities for communities, civic groups, schools, churches and business and industry groups across the
Permian Basin and West Texas area, that enable the adult drinker to take responsibility for their actions when
consuming alcohol, and thereby assuring an element of safety for all concerned; the support to young people to
say, "NO" when it comes to alcohol consumption and peer pressure, and to parents in supervision of alcohol
availability to youth in the home, community and school.

We make no charge for program activity but do, however, ask for community and event financial support. Our
financial resources are realized from individual and corporate donations, project grants and our Victim Impact
Panel Programs. We have a limited professional staff and depend greatly upon our many volunteers for
assistance in program areas.

We cooperate and coordinate with other community agencies to further impact the use of illegal drugs by youth
and adults and now, address "Texting While Driving".

You will notice, as you view this website, the various program activities we present to help save lives in our
communities. Thank you for your visit and your support.

Cordially,
Charles Hodges, CEO
