Our mission, is to provide, through educational
programs, a defining moment that inspires adults and
young people alike, to make a difference in their
community, by saying "KNOW" to alcohol, additional
drugs, and Safe Driving Habits.

Health - Safety - Prevention

Dreams are shattered every 30 minutes across Texas as
someone dies needlessly in  a distracted driving crash.

Stop DWI, Inc., coordinates with communities, schools and other advocacy groups in
the Permian Basin and West Texas, to present the reality of distracted driving as a
result of alcohol, additional drugs, cell-phone 'texting' and excessive speed.  Our
programs are used to vividly demonstrate the dangers of impairment due to alcohol
and other drugs, and from distracted operation of a motor vehicle.

"Know Your Limit"
Our program for the legal age drinker is "Know Your Limit", and "Stick With It". We
visit community and industry safety programs and the college/university campus to
provide a variety of safety programs. Our "Intoxi-Clock" is a popular program with
these groups. The legal drinker is made aware of "High Risk" alcohol ingestion. Other
components of this program include "Fatal Reflection, Fatal Distraction, S.I.D.N.E.,
and SUM-IT-CUP".

This program is also used in high schools.

April  is National Alcohol Awareness Month and we will be in area high schools and colleges
with  programs and activities.

Intoxi-Clock "You Call The Shots"

This program vividly demonstrates how levels of intoxication impair an individual's ability to
safely perform motor skills. Drinkers often underestimate the amount of alcohol it takes to
lose mental/physical performance, and the time it takes to be sober.

SUM-IT-CUP "Standard Unit of Measure"

This educational tool show the qualified drinker the true measure of a drink. Many people
over-estimate the amount of alcohol they pour into a beverage. Knowing what constitutes a
standard unit of alcohol in a drink size is critical.

Distraction While Driving "Fatal Reaction-Distract-a-match"

This program is a 'hand-on' engaging activity that dramatically demonstrates how being
distracted while driving can be fatal. Texting, reading, GPS operation, eating and talking to
friends are all distractions.

We think too often, that crashes due to alcohol or other impairment, always happens to
other people. Our hands on programs creates a past-pace experience of incidents involving
impairment and distractions of various kinds while operating a motor  vehicle, and the
resulting consequences. We encourage participants to make alternative choices to misuse
of alcohol, additional drugs or other distractions while driving.

Program Director of the Texas
Highway Patrol (DPS), and Debra
Linton, Program Director-Stop DWI,
Inc. SIDNE, operate the program at
Bethany Christian Church in Odessa
"Community Night Out" Program.

SIDNE is a great educational tool for
young people and adults alike, to
demonstrate the dangers of
impairment, either from
alcohol/drugs or
'texting', or many
other distractions while operating a
motor vehicle.

The program must have at least a
100' x 100' driving area, and is
operated by remote operator control.
The operator can put the vehicle into
an impaired mode at any time.
Sometimes, the driver receives a call
on our cell phone while attempting to
drive the course.

SIDNE also works well inside a gym.
